Essence Keep It Perfect Make-up Fixing Spray – Review

A makeup fixing spray has become a must-have beauty product in my makeup routine. I was so excited when I heard Essence Cosmetics was coming out with a brand new makeup fixing spray. Good quality, affordable fixing/setting sprays are a scarce commodity in South Africa. These types of products can get a bit pricey, so it’s always great to see more affordable brands coming out with new & exciting products like these.

Product Description:

“Stay gorgeous! Perfectly fixed with just one spray. The light, transparent formula of the make-up fixing spray lies on the make-up like a protective layer and ensures a long-lasting finish. It has a refreshing effect, won’t weigh down the skin and is fragrance-free”.

The Essence Keep It Perfect Makeup Fixing Spray comes packaged in a small, lightweight plastic bottle with a spray nozzle on top, containing 50ml of product. I love how the spray nozzle deposits the product evenly, without looking like you were drenched in a bucket of water (ain’t nobody got time for that) I’d suggest you hold the bottle as far away from your face as possible and then spritz 2-3 pumps all over the face, anything more will be too much and will cause your makeup to slip and slide.

I find this spray keeps my makeup looking fresher for longer, while giving my skin a beautiful smooth, airbrushed finish. Although, I wouldn’t say it keeps my makeup in place for the whole day (such as one might expect from a primer) but it will extend the wear-time of your makeup by a couple of hours.

It delivers a fine mist, and feels extremely lightweight and comfortable on the skin, unlike other fixing sprays on the market that feel sticky or tight on the skin. This product hasn’t broken me out or caused any irritation on my skin (I have dry, sensitive skin) so, generally speaking, this product should be suitable for all skin types.

Top Tip:

You can also use this product or any other fixing/setting spray of your choice to intensify your shimmer eyeshadows and pigments, by lightly spritzing your brush with 2 pumps of makeup setting spray.

My final thoughts? I really love this fixing spray! It does what it says, and it’s a very affordable option for us gals on a budget. I’d definitely repurchase this again once I run out.
