Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation – Review

Hey everyone! On the blog today, I have a review on the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation. I’ve worn this foundation everyday for the past month, and I love it. If you read my 5-minute Makeup Routine blog post, you’ll probably already know this. Feel free to check that post out here. So, I thought it’ll be a good idea to go a little in-depth about this product, and how it works for me, and of course not forgetting the fact that it’s such an affordable foundation. I’ve got very high expectations when it comes to foundations, because I think they’re such an important product in your makeup routine, providing you with a blank canvas to work on. It’s definitely one of those products that I don’t mind splurging on, but on the flip side, you know I got you covered when it comes to quality products at a low price. Now, let’s jump straight into the review.

Rimmel claims:

– Instant perfect coverage that feels extra comfortable and lasts all day.

– Blends flawlessly, seamlessly, instantly and easily into the skin.

– Sweat, heat and humidity proof for up to 25 hours with a hydrating lightweight feel. Visibly reduces imperfections and dark circles.

The foundation comes packaged in a sleek glass bottle with a pump (bonus points for the pump) There are 7 shades available in the range. I choose the shade 100 Ivory, which is the lightest shade in the collection. If you have a cool, pink undertone, I’d definitely recommend trying this shade.

When I first swatched this it was very thick in texture, I’d admit, I was a bit skeptical if it would be too heavy and hard to blend, but once I applied it to my skin, I then buffed it in using a flat top kabuki brush and it blended like a dream. It dries down to a semi-matt finish. It feels very comfortable & lightweight on the skin. I can definitely vouch for the hydrating claim, because while it was on my skin, it felt hydrating and didn’t cling to any of dry patches. This foundation also has excellent coverage – being a medium to full coverage.

The lasting power is around 8 hours. It’s one of those foundations that looks better with time. As I previously mentioned Rimmel also claimed that the foundation lasts 25 hours. Honestly, I wouldn’t know because frankly no one wears foundation for that long… (well, I’m assuming so) I normally wear my makeup for around 8 hours and it held up really well, it still looked fresh and flawless from when I first applied it, however it did transfer a little around the nose area, but that’s normal if I don’t wear a primer underneath (I’ve mentioned this before if you’ve been reading my blog for awhile)

My final thoughts? I’m incredibly impressed with this foundation and with such a ridiculously affordable price tag, I would definitely recommend this.
