Eau Thermale Avène – Review

As a big fan of Eau Thermale Avène, I wanted to share some of my favourite products from their line. These are products that I use on daily basis and have incorporated in my skincare routine. Lately I’ve mainly been focusing on anything that provides hydration, and this line does just that. They’re all about offering maximum hydration to sensitive skin which sounds exactly like the kind of products I need right now.

Let’s get into the review, shall we…

Eau Thermale Avène Spring Water Spray

I’m sure most of you should be familiar with the Avène Thermale Spring Water Spray. It’s been raved about for ages. Packaged in a simple, white bottle with a spray nozzle. This water is extremely soothing and calming. It calms stressed skin, while instantly giving you a refreshed, moisturized feeling. Thermale Water is said to be very beneficial. It’s used to treat many skin problems, and is utilized in the treatment of arthritis, joint pains and even burns. However, it is more popularly used to relieve the skin of certain conditions such as, facial redness, itching, damaged skin, razor burn, and even diaper rash. I can’t vouch for all these claims as I only use it as a refresher spray, but so far I really love it.

Eau Thermale Avène Micellar Lotion

I’ve been a huge fan of micellar waters for the longest time. It’s the ultimate lazy-girl hack for removing makeup, cleansing, and toning in one swipe. As a first cleanse product, it successfully removes dirt and oils off of the skin. As a make-up remover, it is effective, yet gentle at the same time. It’s also free of oils, preservatives, soap and alcohol. So, it should work great for sensitive skin types aswell. Overall, this is a fabulous micellar water!

Eau Thermale Avène Soothing Moisture Mask

I’m really loving this mask at the moment. It has really calmed my skin and reduced redness and dry patches. The consistency is like a standard, unscented moisturizer. I apply this generously to cleansed skin and let it absorb for 15-20 minutes before wiping it off with damp face cloth. It leaves my skin, refreshed, gleaming and hydrated. Key ingredients include, thermal spring water (to soothe and soften skin) and, propylene glycols (to moisturize). If you have dry/normal skin I’d definitely recommend giving this a go!

Eau Thermale Avène Hydrance Optimale Hydrating Skin Tone Perfector Rich

This lightweight, moisturizer gives skin a very subtle tint and glow with deep hydration. It’s very much like a CC cream, which means you’re not going to get a lot of coverage, however it does help blur the look of imperfections and gives the skin a healthy, luminous appearance. The formula is very creamy and absorbs easy. There is currently only one shade available, Riche, designed to work for most complexions, but I find it a bit too warm for my pale skin tone, so I mix it with one of my lighter foundations to get the perfect shade match. Key ingredients include, Meiboserine (a protective veil that locks in hydration) and, Lipomucine (ensures optimum hydration by helping to spread water across the skin). This skin tone perfector is also available in a Light version, for normal to combination skin, and a Rich version, for dry to very dry skin.

That’s all from me today. Have you tried any products from Avéne? If so, what are your favourites? Let me know in the comments section below.
